Goalkeeper in Azure Latch is a positioning role before it is a reaction test. The official mechanics board documents Space for a goalkeeper jump, Q for a forward dive, A + Q for a left dive, D + Q for a right dive, and T for Super Throw. These inputs work best when your starting angle keeps the likely shot within reach.
The current Roblox Experience supports up to ten players in its root place, while dedicated places include several match formats. Always confirm you are assigned goalkeeper and that the mode’s rules match the server you joined before diagnosing a control.

Q has other meanings outside the goalkeeper role, including tackle and directional combinations. Role and state determine the action.
Set the angle before the shot
Imagine a line from the ball to each post. Start near the middle of that angle, then adjust as the ball moves. Standing on the goal line gives the attacker more visible target; charging too far removes reaction space and exposes a pass around you.
Use small movements. Follow the ball rather than every shoulder feint. If a defender forces the attacker wide, trust that pressure and protect the near-post release without abandoning the cutback. Communicate through consistent positioning even when chat is unavailable.
When the ball changes sides, move while the pass travels. Arriving after the receiver controls it gives the shooter a settled target.
Read the release, not the wind-up
Many attacks can show a shot and change the outcome through a pass, feint, Style branch, or cancel. Diving on the first wind-up lets the attacker wait. Hold the centered angle until the ball or locked animation commits to a path.
This is especially important against Kaiser variants and other kits with multiple finishing routes. Read the ball’s direction and height. Use a jump for an aerial threat and a directional dive for a committed side, while recognizing that exact save reach can be balanced.
Latency affects when the server resolves the release. Test your preferred timing in the current server instead of copying a frame count from a different ping.
Forward dive decisions
Q’s forward dive can close a loose ball or reduce the attacker’s space, but it is a full commitment. Before leaving the goal, check whether the attacker controls the ball, whether a teammate can reach it first, and whether a simple pass will bypass you.
Approach straight enough to block the shot but not so early that the attacker can move around the dive. If the defender is already recovering goal side, coordinate by holding the angle rather than attacking the same ball.
A missed forward dive requires immediate recovery toward the center. Do not continue chasing toward the corner while the goal remains open.
Handle rebounds as a second save
A blocked ball may remain live. After every dive or jump, locate the rebound before resetting the camera. Defenders should cover likely receivers while you recover the central line.
If the ball can be secured, choose control over a desperate second animation. If it remains dangerous, move it wide. A rebound cleared into the center gives the opponent another direct finish.
Styles with defensive deflect or intercept tools can support the goalkeeper, but two players attacking the same rebound can collide or open the back post. Assign first and second responsibility through positioning.
Distribute after the save
T Super Throw is an attacking opportunity only when the destination is safe. Scan the nearest pressure, both wide lanes, and the central receiver before throwing. The longest option is not automatically the best.
Prefer a wide or clearly unmarked teammate when the middle is crowded. If the match state allows, let the team spread before releasing. An immediate throw to a marked striker turns a successful save into another shot against you.
After distribution, reset to a position that can respond if possession is lost. Do not watch the attack from outside your useful goal area.
Build and use goalkeeper Flow
The official Flow card lists saves among actions that add meter. Keep making the correct save rather than engineering extra shots. When Flow is ready, identify the equipped Style’s defensive or goalkeeper-relevant variants before pressing G.

Goalkeeper practice routine
- Stand centered and have a teammate move the ball laterally without shooting. Track the angle using small steps.
- Add ordinary left, center, and right shots. Wait for release before selecting Space or a dive.
- Add a pass or feint option so the first wind-up is not always the shot.
- Practise one forward-dive situation, then recover immediately after a miss.
- Finish every save by locating the rebound and choosing a short or wide distribution.
Repeat at the ping and mode you normally play. Ranked rewards repeatable positioning more than one spectacular save.
Common goalkeeper mistakes
- Standing still on the goal line while the shooting angle changes.
- Diving on a wind-up before the ball commits.
- Charging every loose ball even when a pass can bypass the keeper.
- Watching the animation instead of locating the rebound.
- Throwing centrally into pressure immediately after a save.
- Assuming ordinary field Q behavior while assigned goalkeeper.
